Strategic Platform for Ameliorating Tunisian Higher Education on Food Sciences and Technology (SPAAT4food)

 

The SPAAT4FOOD project was developed to build-up the growing Food Science and Technology (FST) capacities in Tunisian universities and to strengthen the relationship between universities and food industries at national and international level.

To this aim, the project is implementing activities that will

  • promote competency development, or capacity building of trainers and students;
  • promoting innovation and food technological development through the reinforcement of partnership between universities and companies and the creation of platform and incubators in favor of all structures;
  • Improve of staff expertise (teachers and lab assistants in particular);
  • promoting scientific and technological system through development of database information and expert networks to improve accessibility and visibility at national and international levels;
  • promoting graduates to be leadership, research and problem-solving skills, by setting a dedicated platform for students traineeship in food industries and innovative training tools.

 

In this process, the project also aims to strengthen institutions and build capacities of vocational HE institutions in FST, thus further improving  the Tunisian position as educators, training providers and consultancy experts.
