Nanoplasmonics has gained huge interest both in fundamental and applied (bio)analytics. Plasmonic nanoparticles exhibit exciting optical properties that can be tailored for several purposes, from therapeutic to diagnostic applications. Different detection strategies can be designed exploiting Localized Surface Plasmon transduction of these versatile nanomaterials. An overview of state of art and emerging approaches is here shown.
